About the Beach
Hi All! Liam asked me to put this on the blog for him, so here goes:
"In responce to various comments (forgive me if I don't remember all of the questions...), the beach was very nice. No rocks! All just beautiful beach sand, palm trees, the waves breaking perfectly on the shore etc. Pretty much exactly what people think of when they think about a vaction in the south - made it a little weird actually! haha. It just wasn't going to the shore without it being cold, and having a fire, hotdogs etc. I'm going to have to go to the shore in october when I get back... although I may be going on my own at that time of year!
I'm not feeling nearly as homesick as I was, although I think about home a lot still, I just don't get sad when I think about it. I have been keeping a journal, thank you again Aunt Mary and Uncle Terry for the beautiful journal, I also use my nicest pen in it, I really feel like the adventurer out in the wilds of Africa keeping a journal of all the weird and wonderful things he is seeing... especially when the power is off and I'm using candles!!
I've also gone through the various things (meal replacement bars, chocolate, maple syrup etc.) that I brought along, and figuring out how often I can use each of them. Basically I can use a meal bar every 2 months, and syrup every two months, with nothing in October... which doesn't matter too much beacuse I leave then anyway.
The Comptuer classes won't be problem as far as language is concerned, all of the students will be people that have already finished the basic class, and they all speak english (one of the requirements for the class), and most people elsewhere usually understand enough that I can describe my want/need to them, even if they don't speak english themselves...there are times though... ;)
Always nice to see that people are looking at, and leaving comments, on this website. Its so nice to see!

Hey Liam - thanks for this update (via Megan). When we got you the bars etc. we didn't realize how precious they would become, to the point that you'd be rationing them! Good that you're not so homesick ... don't forget us though.

Hi Liam! I was just at Aunt Sharon's Pampered Chef party like the one you attended at my place. Your mom was there and Aunt Ann and Aunt Mary and Nancy too, was great fun. Powdered milk and eggs hey? So now you know how to cook eggs many different ways right? Boiled, scrambled, poached, fryed etc. If you had a little flour you could make some pancakes. can you buy oatmeal there??? Write again soon. Luv Aunt Monica ;}
