Wow... It took me almost half an hour to get here to post this... ugh.
Things are going well here. I have completely recovered from malaria, and feel quite well now. I am slowly figuring out where to get more and more different types of food, and learning how to cook it too. I'm enjoying it far more than rice, even though I tend to eat more or less the same things, at least it isn't rice!
The computer classes are starting on Monday (finally), so I've been spending time getting ready for that. I'm so excited to start - it will give me something to do four days of the week. Unfortunately the bicycle I had been told is working has a flat tire (tyre as they spell it here), so I won't be able to use it for a little while at least. Its actually really annoying, they had given it to one of the local Baha'i with the purpose of getting it working, so I didn't have it for the first month I was here, and now that I have it I can't use it! :(
I've decided I definitly want to use it once I'm going to Bakau every day, my feet are already feeling the effects of walking that far everyday, and I don't want to have to depend on 'public transit', in the mornings it can take forever just to find a bush taxi that isn't full.
Its kind of funny being here. We have all this nice weather, a little rain and thunder, but nothing major... and we send all kinds of nasty things over to the US and Canada! All of the hurricanes start right here, just off the coast, and grow and grow as they cross the ocean. We (the pioneers here from N. America) laugh about it, here we are basking in the sun, pointing and laughing, as it were, at all of you! hehe.
I won't have any more picture updates for at least a week... maybe longer, sorry!

Hi Scoop. It was great to talk to you again today, and to hear you sounding so much healthier and happier! Keep on cooking... experiment with different things and figure out what works with what you've got there. Find out what spices and herbs they have so you can keep things tasty.

Hey Liam
I'm so glad that you are feeling better. I was also glad to read that you have fully recovered.
It's good that your classes are starting monday. It's too bad that your bike is down.
Finally, I was glad to hear that you have found other things to eat than rice. It's good you are learning to cook.
Miss you lots, but I am very glad you are doing well.
Keep Smiling,
Kesh

Stickman - was afraid there for a bit that with no appetite you would actually become a stickman! So happy you are well again.
Just finished with the apple blossom weekend (blossoms long gone, so just apple weekend? ...no, that won't work, as there are no apples yet. Weekend, ok?!) Anyhoo, it rained mightily the whole time. Your Mom helped out at the BBQ at the Boates' under leaking (pouring in some spots) tarps. Everybody rushed in and rushed away again with their food to eat it somewhere dry. No socializing over it this year. Felt so sad for Sarah Sotvedt. She was a princess this year. Most of her experience was soggy.
Lots of hummingbirds, and the swallows are nesting again in our window, which would be a lot more fun if I were not working all day.
I'm going to Ohio on the 22nd. Moo & Mike's son Sam is due to arrive on the 26th, but we are very nervous that he may come much sooner and that I will get there after the fact. The doctor says the event could happen any time now, so we will see.
Anyhoo, keep happy.
Consider yourself hugged. Love you.

Hi Liam: Very glad to hear you are well again, and you do sound better and you sound cheerful! I hear your great sense of humour coming back into your words! Hope you soon get the tyre fixed so you have wheels to get you from here to there. Look forward to hearing about your first days in the classroom! Love and hugs from Aunt Mary

Hi Liam! Adam is home and John and Tara and others...this little ole Woodville is hopping with activity right now! There is a huge white tent with windows set up on Uncle Gerards runway where the reception will be held. Its all very exciting! Wish that you were going to be here too! By the way, where are you finding the 'new food'? At markets? Love you.
