Pictures of the Sky! Yay!

It's truly amazing to think that I only have about one month left here. In many ways I want to go home, to see everyone, to experiece all of the 'familiar' things of home, and yet I cannot stop thinking that all of those things I've been thinking about as being from 'home' are going to seem really strange once I'm back. I'm at home here - although I can hardly believe I'm saying it. I find it so hard to imagine that in another month all of these people I've been interacting with on a daily basis, who have really become almost like family to me - the pioneers, my students, the local Baha'is - will all but cease to be a part of my life! People have told me that going home is harder than going to a new place, and I think I am starting to understand why.
We just had a memorial service here for Ahmad Shams, Faramarz and Kia's father who passed away a couple of weeks ago. It was amazing how many people showed up, almost all of whom had never met the man, but came to support their friends. It was really beautiful.
My USB Hard drive has decided its had enough. It's really unfortunate because I had about 50Gb of information on it, and some of it was stuff I got here - although fortunately not very much. My biggest loss is all of my full quality pictures - everything I've taken since I arrived in April. I've been putting copies of almost everything up here on my blog, but most of those have been reduced in size by 50% because of the internet speed here. I'm really hoping that once I get home I, or Western Digital (it's still under warranty) will be able to recover the pictures.
In light of this, all the pictures I'm posting now are full quality...
I apologize for any layout problems, blogs don't handle multiple pictures very well. Complain to blogger, not me ;)

Awsome sky pics! Guess you are feeling better, as you did not mention the nasty cold this time. :)
Miserable luck about your photos. Hopefully they will all be recoved. Thank goodness for this site and all the pictures you have posted here.
Hard to think of leaving there - hard not to be excited about coming home too. I expect your heart will be divided for many places and peoples before you're done!
You go with a present for folks you've never met, and return with gifts from those 'strangers' too numerous to mention & difficult to describe. Funny about that. ;0)
Cram lots into your last month there, and continue with the pictures, especially of your new friends.
Will look forward to hearing lots of personal accounts of your experiences.
Consider yourself hugged!

Hey LIAM!
Great to see a new post up, I'm loving the new pictures. They are very clear, very artsy. Nice one of you as well.
We are getting pretty excited about planning our disney trip, but I can't really look to far ahead of when you get back! Now that it's getting so close I keep thinking about it more and more. I can't wait to hear all about you 6 months in person!
Oh, and there is a planned shuttle and/or rocket launch planned to set out from cape canaveral while we're in florida. We are of course planning our vacation around it, so get ready to see a live take-off!
Lots of love,
-Megan

Liam, I love your sky pics. They are beautiful! You haven't lost your eye for beautiful things, that's for sure! It is hard to believe your time there is nearly over. We all look forward to having you home again, but will not be surprised to hear that you are off again on some adventure in another part of this wonderful world! Your friends there must be dreading the day when you are gone. Isn't it wonderful to be loved! Hugs and kisses, Aunt Mary

Awesome sky photos, it seems every part of the world has it's own sky! One thing you will learn as you age, is though you leave people, they are still in your heart, and often folks turn up in the most unexpectred places!
Sunday I had a call from my daughter Nicole, Mom, you'll never guess WHAT! Seems a part time employee of hers, who is a full time nurse, graduated from the same high school as her older brother and sister, and was a nurse at the very hospital where she born, in a small Florida town some 460 miles from here!
Since you have been Africa, I have met Africans, studying or visiting here, and people who have children or grandchildren going to various countries to do heakth work and research.
Home is great, but once you've been away, you will never see it quite the same again, but it is always great to be where those who love you most are, and I understand, the food in the valley is awesome!

Hey Liam! I haven't been leaving many comments lately but I have definalty still been following along :) I'm really excited to see you when you get home, but it looks like you will have lots of people wanting to spend time and hear the stories!
I must say though...I read this entry and couldn't help thinking a small I told you so :P Do you remeber that conversation we had not long after you first got there and I was home making the cookies that turned out so bad? Well in case in all the adventures it slipped your mind...I told you that soon your definition of normal would change, and you'd get used to life there and that would be normal, and as happy as you will be to come home you will really miss Africa. You told me you didn't think that would ever be possible.....
I don't remind you to rub it in that I was right (although I do get a tiny bit of pleasure out of it :P) but just to let you reflect a bit on how far you have come; in more ways than geographically! I am thinking about you and am hoping the best for you! Take care
Love From Kelly
